  2. The greatest way to impact others is through relationships.

  3. Structure your week so that you can focus on specific tasks each day rather than different things everyday.

3 Life-Changing Exercises to Crush 2021

How are you going  to show up in 2021?

  • Success starts with your mindset and intentionality that you have.
  • Choose a word to describe each of these elements of your life. Your personal life, the way you interact with people, and a word that will define the key to your success.
  • Use Seth’s examples in his own life as a baseline for your own defining words.
  • Intentionally live out these words in your life in 2021.

Don’t underestimate the importance of kindness in your personal relationships.

  • Kindness is a choice, regardless of your situation you are demonstrating your care and intentionality for the wellbeing of others.
  • Focus on those closest to you as they should be receiving your very best.
  • Intentionally seek out ways that you can show kindness and concern for others, instead of being self focused.

"I want the people closest to me to be receiving the best of me and not the leftovers" - Seth Buechley

How are you going to interact with others in your work environment?

  • Think of several words that will describe specifically your interactions with others and boil it down to one that will reflect your attitude and posture.
  • Selflessly put the interests and needs of others above your own.
  • Be supportive in your interactions with those around you.
  • Intentionally invest not only in your own experiences but also in the experiences of others.

"Life is short. Instead of seeking the limelight or trying to fill an endless bucket of my need for great experiences, it’s my job to ensure that others around me have those experiences and that I’m transferring the knowledge, access, and assets that I have all with the mindset of being supportive." - Seth Buechley

How will your success in 2021 be defined when you look back at this coming year?

  • The single greatest way to influence others is through relationships.
  • Don’t get so focused on reaching the world online that you miss having an impact on those you are truly in relationship with.
  • Cultivate healthy relationships as this is where you will have the largest impact and longest lasting footprint.
  • Lastly write these three words down and display them where you will see them regularly as a reminder.

"Put these words in your phone as an alarm and have these alarms go off multiple times throughout your day." - Seth Buechley attributed to Brendon Burchard

How do you want to invest your time in 2021?

  • Determine what your “ideal” week looks like. Understand not every week will look like this but it’s important to know what yours is.
  • Place specific themes or tasks on each day. This will help you to maintain sharp focus and synergy in each task.
  • Be mindful of when you have the most energy during each day. If you are someone who crashes in the afternoon don’t put off your most complex work in the afternoon.
  • Take a grid and lay out in half hour increments your ideal week. This should include all the things important to you, not just your work life.

"Many of us underestimate the switching cost when we move from task to task. We lose momentum, we lose focus, we lose energy and frankly we lose effectiveness. By grouping similar tasks we can gain synergy and maximize energy so that it’s less burdensome on our brain." - Seth Buechley attributed to Cal Newport

How to live by the “Come as you will be” exercise.

  • Take a look at the next three years and ask yourself what you will have achieved in the key categories of life.
  • Discover what your key categories of life are e.g. personal, spiritual, relational, professional and financial.
  • Decide on three outcomes for each of those categories that you will achieve in the next three years.
  • Document your next step for each outcome you are shooting for.
  • Create a visual that will help stimulate and lock you into achieving that outcome.

"Have the mindset of I only have one life. I want to make it count." - Seth Buechley
